Ostia Community Residence Opens in Limerick
Recently we celebrated the official inauguration and blessing of the Ostia Community residence. The Ostia Community is a new project of the Irish Augustinians where six young men are invited to live as a Christian community during one year of their university studies. The hope is to give these young men an experience of faith outside of their homes and also to share with them the Augustinian charism of community. This is a new venture for the Irish Province of Augustinians and we ask for your prayerful support as this project gets off the ground.
The Ostia Community will reside in the building that used to host St. Augustine’s School, in Augustinian Lane. This building has been used for youth work for many years and the new project is very much in keeping with its long history since its association with St. Augustine’s Church. The project is headed up by Fr. Noel who has directed the renovation of the building, transforming it into a modern six-bed residence designed to promote community living for the young men who participate. As with all new ventures, it will take time to establish the project fully, but we are hopeful that it will make a real contribution to the faith lives of those involved.
Tús maith, leath na hoibre!
